ACT LC fiberdämpare 2 dB

The ACT LC Fiber optic attenuator 2 dB is a small in-line device engineered to reduce optical signal power by 2 decibels in single-mode fiber links. Designed with LC connectors and a blue housing, this attenuator integrates directly into existing fiber runs to help balance receiver input levels, avoid saturation of sensitive optical receivers, and maintain stable link performance in high-speed data transmission environments. Supplied as a single unit, it is suitable for targeted adjustments in patch panels, transceiver links, and test setups.

Advantages

This 2 dB fiber optic attenuator provides precise and predictable attenuation with low insertion loss beyond the rated value and minimal return loss impact. The LC connectors ensure compatibility with standard LC-terminated equipment and patch cords, while the compact, inline form factor permits easy installation in confined patch panel spaces. The blue color coding simplifies identification of attenuation elements in cabling assemblies and maintenance operations.

Key specifications

• Attenuation: 2 dB nominal
• Connector type: LC (female-to-female in-line)
• Fiber type: Single-mode (typically 9/125 µm)
• Color: Blue housing for attenuation identification
• Packaging: single piece per pack

How to use

Install the attenuator by inserting one LC connector end into the optical source or patch cord and the other end into the receiving device or patch cord. Ensure connectors and adapters are clean and free of contamination before mating to avoid insertion loss from dirt or debris. Confirm the attenuator orientation if applicable, then verify optical power levels at the receiver with a power meter to ensure the 2 dB reduction brings the signal into the desired operating range.

Recommendations

Use this attenuator for fine-tuning optical power in single-mode networks; avoid using in multi-mode links. Store and handle with clean hands and protective caps in place when not installed. For critical links, verify attenuation and return loss during commissioning and periodically as part of routine maintenance.
