ACT LC fiberdämpare 7 dB

The ACT LC Fiber Optic Attenuator 7 dB is a fixed inline optical attenuator designed to reduce optical power in fiber optic links. It is fitted with LC connectors and has a blue housing. The attenuator provides a precise 7 dB attenuation level to help match receiver sensitivity and prevent overload in high-power transmitter applications. Supplied as a single piece per pack, it is compact and suitable for insertion into existing LC-terminated patch cords or equipment ports where controlled signal reduction is required.

Advantages

This ACT LC attenuator offers consistent attenuation with low back reflection, enabling stable optical performance. Its LC connector interface ensures compatibility with standard LC ports used in data center and telecom equipment. The compact form factor and single-piece packaging make it easy to carry and deploy for field technicians and small-scale installations. The blue housing provides quick visual identification of the attenuation value in rack or patch panel environments.

Suitable for

• Adjusting optical power to match receiver sensitivity in single-mode fiber links
• Preventing receiver overload from high-power transmitters in telecom and datacom systems
• Temporary attenuation during testing, commissioning, or maintenance of fiber networks
• Use in patch panels, fiber jumpers, and equipment ports with LC connectors

Key specifications

• Attenuation: 7 dB fixed
• Connector type: LC
• Fiber type compatibility: single-mode
• Housing color: blue
• Packaging quantity: 1 piece per pack

How to use

Inspect connector endfaces for cleanliness before insertion to avoid contamination and signal loss. Insert the LC connector of the attenuator into the LC receptacle of the patch cord or equipment port until it clicks into place. Verify optical power levels with a power meter after installation to confirm the expected 7 dB reduction. To remove, depress the connector latch and gently withdraw the attenuator from the port. Store the attenuator in a clean, dust-free container when not in use to maintain connector condition.

Recommendations

Use this fixed 7 dB attenuator when measured optical power exceeds the receiver's maximum input or when specific link attenuation is required for system balance. Avoid mating with connectors that show visible damage or contamination. For long-term installations where environmental sealing or higher mechanical robustness is required, consider inline adapters or attenuators with protective boots or different form factors.
