ACT EA8001 fiberoptisk LC-SC simplexadapter

The ACT Fiber optic LC-SC simplex adapter EA8001 provides a compact, single-fiber interface between LC and SC connector types. Housed in a robust metal shell with black and silver finish, this adapter is designed to deliver stable optical connections with low insertion loss and high return loss, supporting reliable signal transfer in fiber optic networks. Its simplex configuration allows one-to-one coupling of LC and SC terminated fibers for patch panels, wall plates, and equipment connectivity.

Advantages

This LC-SC simplex adapter offers consistent optical performance with low insertion loss and improved return loss characteristics. The metal housing increases mechanical durability and shields the connection from electromagnetic interference while the keyed alignment ensures correct connector mating. The compact footprint supports high-density installations and provides a secure fit for standard LC and SC connectors for extended service life.

Suitable for

• Single-fiber patching between LC and SC connector types
• Patch panels and fiber distribution frames in data closets
• Wall plates and outlet boxes for premises cabling
• Telecommunications and network equipment interconnections

Key specifications

• Connector types: LC to SC simplex coupling
• Housing material: metal
• Finish: black and silver
• Configuration: simplex (single-fiber)
• Optical performance: low insertion loss, high return loss
• Compatibility: standard LC and SC fiber connectors (singlemode and multimode where applicable)
• Mounting: panel or bulkhead style adapter

How to use

Install the adapter into a compatible panel or wall plate opening and secure it according to the mounting mechanism of the panel. Insert the SC connector into the SC side of the adapter until it clicks into place, then insert the LC connector into the LC side, ensuring proper orientation and full engagement. Verify the optical link using appropriate testing equipment to check insertion loss and continuity. For removal, depress the connector latch (if present) and pull straight out to avoid damaging the ferrule or adapter sleeve.

Recommendations

Handle fiber connectors with clean hands and inspect endfaces before mating. Use appropriate cleaning tools for fiber connectors and adapters to maintain low insertion loss. Avoid bending fibers sharply near the adapter and secure cabling to prevent strain on the connection. Periodically test optical performance to ensure ongoing network reliability.
