Hanterad switch PLANET GS-4210-24T4S

The PLANET GS-4210-24T4S is a 24-port managed L2/L4 Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for SMB and enterprise edge deployments. It provides 24 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports plus 4 100/1000BASE-X SFP uplink slots, a switching capacity of 56 Gbit/s and an 8000-entry MAC table. The switch supports dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 management, common L2/L4 functions and multiple secure management interfaces, and is available in a fanless, energy-efficient rack-mountable 1U form factor.

Advantages

The GS-4210-24T4S combines advanced L2/L4 switching, IPv6/IPv4 dual-stack management and built-in security features such as SSH, TLS and SNMPv3 for protected administration. Its fanless design and green technology reduce noise and power consumption while maintaining reliable performance. Additional benefits include flexible SFP uplinks for long-distance extension and support for link aggregation, QoS and robust ACL-based access control.

Suitable for

• Small and medium business office networks
• Edge aggregation in enterprise networks
• VoIP and video streaming environments requiring QoS
• Rack-mounted installations in server or communication rooms

How to use

Install the GS-4210-24T4S in a standard 19-inch rack and connect the uplink SFP modules or copper ports to the network backbone. Use the web-based management interface for initial configuration and VLAN, QoS and ACL policy setup. For scripted or text configuration, access the switch via console or Telnet, and integrate with SNMP management platforms if centralized monitoring is required. Load SFP modules that match the desired fiber type and distance when extending links.

Recommendations

For secure deployments enable SSH/TLS and SNMPv3 for remote management, configure 802.1X authentication for edge ports, and apply DHCP snooping, IP source guard and dynamic ARP inspection to protect against common layer-2 attacks. Use link aggregation for bandwidth scaling and redundancy and configure QoS markings (DSCP) to prioritise voice and video traffic.
