Fiberkabel Helos 2 m OM4 ST

The Helos 2m OM4 ST fibre optic cable is a 2-metre duplex patch cable with dual ST connectors and a 50 µm multimode core designed for high-speed data transmission. Built to the OM4 multimode specification, this cable supports increased bandwidth and improved performance for short to medium distance links in data centers, server rooms, and structured cabling systems. Its ST bayonet-style connectors provide secure, quick connections compatible with equipment using ST interfaces.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable combines OM4 multimode performance with the convenience of ST connectors and a compact 2 m length. The 50 µm core diameter enables higher modal bandwidth compared with lower-grade multimode fibres, supporting demanding network applications. The duplex configuration allows simultaneous transmit and receive channels, simplifying installation in duplex ST ports. The cable's standard length makes it practical for rack-to-rack, shelf-to-shelf, or device-to-patch panel connections without excess slack.

Suitable for

• 10 Gigabit Ethernet links and other high-bandwidth multimode applications
• Data centre patching between switches, servers and patch panels
• Short- to medium-range optical connections within structured cabling
• Laboratory and testing setups requiring ST connector compatibility

Key specifications

• Length: 2 metres
• Fibre type: OM4 multimode
• Core diameter: 50 µm
• Connector type: ST to ST, duplex (bayonet-style)

How to use

Align the ST connectors with the ST ports on your devices and push the connector into the port until the bayonet locks in place; ensure both ends are correctly oriented for transmit and receive channels. Avoid bending the cable beyond its minimum bend radius and secure any excess length to prevent strain on the connectors. Before installation, confirm that connected equipment accepts multimode ST interfaces and that link distances are appropriate for OM4 performance levels.

Recommendations

Handle the fibre ends carefully to prevent contamination; clean connector endfaces with suitable fibre cleaning tools before mating. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress, and store spare lengths loosely coiled to preserve fibre integrity.
