Yealink WF50 WLAN-adapter

The Yealink WF50 is a compact wireless USB adapter that provides dual-band Wi‑Fi connectivity (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) using Wi‑Fi 5 (802.11ac) technology. Designed for plug-and-play use, the adapter supports maximum data transfer rates up to 433 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band and offers selectable operation on 2.4 GHz (up to 150 Mbps) when needed. The black, lightweight form factor connects via USB and integrates with a variety of devices to deliver stable wireless links suitable for voice calls and HD video streaming.

Advantages

The WF50 reduces wireless interference by allowing users to choose the 5 GHz band for higher throughput and cleaner signals, while retaining 2.4 GHz compatibility for broader range. It supports WPA/WPA2 encryption for basic network security and complies with IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards to maximize compatibility and reliability. Its plug-and-play USB interface enables quick installation without complex configuration.

Suitable for

• Adding wireless connectivity to desktop PCs and laptops without built-in Wi‑Fi
• Improving network performance for VoIP calls and video conferencing
• Streaming HD video where a stable 5 GHz connection is preferred
• Temporary or portable setups that require easy USB-based network access

How to use

Plug the Yealink WF50 into an available USB port on your computer. Allow the operating system to detect the device and install any required drivers automatically. Use the network manager on your device to select the desired SSID and choose 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz according to range and performance requirements. Enter the network password when prompted to establish a secured connection. For optimal voice and video performance, prefer the 5 GHz band when available and free from local interference.

Recommendations

Position the adapter where it has a clear line of sight to the Wi‑Fi access point and away from large metallic objects or other wireless equipment to reduce interference. Use the 5 GHz band for latency-sensitive tasks such as VoIP calls and HD video streaming; switch to 2.4 GHz when greater range or wall penetration is required. Ensure your network uses WPA/WPA2 encryption and update host device drivers periodically for best stability.
