Supermicro AS-1115S-FWTRT svart

Data centers and edge deployments running virtualization, high-performance computing, or dense storage workloads often need a compact server that doesn't sacrifice expandability. The Supermicro AS-1115S-FWTRT packs a single AMD EPYC 7003 or 7002 processor, up to 4TB of DDR4 ECC memory, and eight hot-swap 2.5-inch drive bays into a 1U chassis. Dual 10GbE ports and redundant 1000W Platinum power supplies keep critical services online around the clock.

Key specifications

• 1U rackmount form factor with single socket SP3 for AMD EPYC 7003/7002 series
• 16 DIMM slots supporting DDR4 ECC RDIMM/LRDIMM, up to 4TB total
• 8x 2.5" hot-swap drive bays for NVMe/SATA hybrid storage, plus 2x internal M.2 NVMe slots
• Dual Broadcom BCM57416 10GbE LAN ports and dedicated IPMI 2.0 with KVM over IP
• 1000W redundant (1+1) Platinum level power supplies and six heavy-duty fans with optimal speed control
• Expansion: 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 full-height, full-length and 1x PCIe 4.0 x16 low-profile slots
• Front I/O: 2x USB 3.0; Rear I/O: 2x USB 3.0, 1x VGA, 1x serial port
• Compatible with Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Ubuntu, and VMware ESXi

Why choose it

The AS-1115S-FWTRT balances compute density with storage flexibility. Its hybrid NVMe/SATA backplane lets you mix high-speed NVMe drives for caching or tiering with cost-effective SATA SSDs. Redundant power and hot-swap bays simplify maintenance, while the dedicated management port enables remote administration without an OS agent.

Ideal use cases

• Virtualization clusters running VMware or Hyper-V with moderate storage requirements
• Software-defined storage nodes where NVMe performance and hot-swap serviceability matter
• High-frequency trading or real-time analytics needing low-latency network and storage
• Edge data centers requiring compact, power-efficient AMD EPYC compute

Good to know

This is a barebone server platform—processors, memory, and drives are not included. The 1U chassis supports up to 4TB of memory using 256GB LRDIMMs. For operating system deployment, the onboard M.2 slots can host mirrored boot drives, freeing all eight front bays for data. The system is validated for AMD EPYC 7003 series with PCIe 4.0 support for maximum I/O throughput.
