Satellitantenn Televes S85QSD-W

The Televes S85QSD-W satellite antenna is designed for fixed satellite reception in the 10.7–12.75 GHz frequency band. Constructed from durable aluminum with an 85 cm diameter and 1.5 mm depth, this parabolic reflector provides a nominal gain of 39.5 dBi. Its grey and white finish is intended to integrate with residential and small commercial installations while delivering stable performance for Ku-band satellite signals.

Advantages

The antenna’s aluminum construction offers a balance of strength and corrosion resistance while keeping weight manageable for mounting. A high nominal gain of 39.5 dBi improves signal capture from geostationary satellites across the Ku-band, reducing the need for multiple LNB adjustments. The 85 cm dish size provides improved reception margin compared with smaller dishes, and the paint finish helps protect the surface against weathering and reduces visual impact on facades.

Suitable for

• Residential satellite TV reception in Ku-band frequencies
• Small commercial or multi-dwelling installations requiring a reliable single-dish solution
• Replacement of existing 85 cm class dishes or upgrades from smaller antennas
• Installations where a compact, high-gain reflector is preferred for tighter reception margins

Key specifications

• Operational frequency range: 10.7–12.75 GHz (Ku-band)
• Nominal gain: 39.5 dBi
• Reflector diameter: 85 cm
• Reflector depth: 1.5 mm
• Material: aluminum reflector and supporting structure
• Finish: grey and white painted surface for weather protection

How to use

Mount the dish on a secure mast or wall bracket with appropriate alignment tools. Aim the antenna toward the target satellite orbital position and fine-tune azimuth and elevation while monitoring receiver signal strength and quality. Use a compatible LNB designed for the Ku-band and ensure low-loss coaxial cabling and properly tightened F-type connectors to minimize signal degradation. Verify mechanical stability and retighten fasteners after final alignment.

Recommendations

For best reception, perform alignment during clear weather and use a signal meter or receiver diagnostics for precise tuning. Periodically inspect the dish and mounting hardware for corrosion or movement, and clear any debris or snow that might obstruct the reflector surface. When installing in coastal or highly corrosive environments, consider additional protective measures for metal interfaces to extend service life.
