Passiv infrarödsensor Olympia BMD 210

The Olympia BMD 210 is a passive infrared (PIR) sensor engineered for ceiling mounting to provide motion detection in indoor spaces. It offers a detection distance of up to 6 meters and a full 360° detection angle to monitor the surrounding area. The unit includes an integrated alarm with a sound level of 95 dB and is powered by LR44/AA batteries (1.5 V), ensuring a simple, wire-free installation. Its compact dimensions (95 mm width, 35 mm depth, 125 mm height) allow the sensor to be placed unobtrusively on most ceilings.

Advantages

The Olympia BMD 210 combines wide-angle coverage with a moderate detection range to detect movement across an entire room when ceiling-mounted. The 95 dB alarm delivers a clear audible alert to draw attention when motion is detected. Battery power eliminates the need for wiring and simplifies installation and maintenance. The small form factor makes it suitable for integration into various interior environments without requiring significant space or structural alterations.

How to use

Install the Olympia BMD 210 on a ceiling at a central position for optimal 360° coverage, avoiding direct airflow from HVAC vents or places with rapid temperature changes that could affect PIR performance. Fit the recommended batteries in the designated compartment following polarity markings, then secure the housing according to the mounting method provided in the product packaging. After powering the unit, perform a walk-test through the detection area to confirm the effective range and alarm response. Replace batteries when the alarm response weakens or according to routine maintenance intervals.

Recommendations

Place the sensor at a height consistent with ceiling-mounted devices and keep it free from obstructions such as large hanging fixtures. For reliable detection, avoid pointing the sensor directly at windows or heat sources. Regularly check battery condition and test the alarm to ensure the 95 dB alert functions correctly when motion occurs.
