Ohanterad switch Trendnet TI-PG162

The Trendnet TI-PG162 is an unmanaged gigabit Ethernet switch with 14 RJ-45 ports and integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability. Designed for plug-and-play operation, it supports full duplex mode and provides a switching capacity of 32 Gbit/s and a MAC address table size of 8000 entries. The compact black housing can be mounted on a wall for straightforward placement in small offices, retail environments, and network edge locations where reliable gigabit connectivity and PoE power delivery are required.

Advantages

The TI-PG162 requires no configuration, enabling fast deployment and simple expansion of wired networks. With gigabit Ethernet ports it supports high-throughput applications and reduces transfer bottlenecks. Built-in PoE simplifies cabling by delivering power and data over a single Ethernet cable to compatible devices. The device complies with IEEE networking standards, ensuring interoperability with existing network equipment. Its moderate weight and wall-mountable design allow flexible installation in constrained spaces.

Suitable for

• Connecting office workstations and networked printers
• Powering and linking PoE devices such as IP cameras and access points
• Expanding wired infrastructure at small branch offices or retail locations
• Edge network aggregation where unmanaged, reliable switching is acceptable

How to use

Place the TI-PG162 near your network devices and connect its power adapter if required. Use Cat5e or Cat6 cables to connect each network device to the RJ-45 ports; PoE-capable devices will receive power automatically from the appropriate ports without additional configuration. The switch operates in plug-and-play mode, so no management interface or software setup is necessary. For permanent installation mount the unit to a wall using the integrated mounting points and secure with suitable fasteners. Verify link/activity LEDs to confirm successful connections and proper port operation.

Recommendations

Use certified Cat5e or Cat6 cables for gigabit performance and place the switch in a ventilated, dry location away from heat sources. When deploying multiple PoE devices, ensure the combined power draw does not exceed the switch’s available PoE budget by checking device power requirements. For installations with high port usage or heavy upstream traffic, connect the switch to an upstream gigabit-capable router or uplink port to avoid bottlenecks.
