Nätverkskort MikroTik RB44GE

The MikroTik RB44GE is a wired network card with a PCI Express interface that provides four 10/100/1000T Gigabit Ethernet ports on a single expansion card. It is designed to increase port density and throughput for routers and systems that support PCIe, enabling additional wired connections while conserving other expansion slots.

Advantages

The card uses the Atheros AR8131/M controller and supports checksum offload for IP, TCP and UDP to reduce CPU load and improve network performance. It includes Wake-On-LAN (WOL) with AMD Magic Packet support, IEEE 802.3x flow control, interrupt coalescing, and advanced DSP features such as adaptive equalization and echo/crosstalk cancellation. Built-in Cable Diagnostic Test (CDT) detects open or short cables, estimates cable length and identifies impedance mismatches. Power usage is adjusted based on detected cable length and Green Ethernet / Energy Star 4.0 features are supported.

How to use

Install the MikroTik RB44GE into an available PCI Express slot on a powered-off system, secure the card to the chassis and connect network cables to the RJ45 ports. Boot the system and install any required drivers or firmware updates provided by MikroTik or the operating system to enable full functionality. Configure network settings on your router or operating system to use the new interfaces as needed.

Recommendations

Install the card in a compatible PCIe slot and keep drivers up to date. Use shielded CAT5e or better cabling for reliable Gigabit links and run the cable diagnostic test to verify link integrity after installation.
