The InLine USB 3.0 Mainboard to USB 3.2 Type-E Key-A Adapter provides a compact solution for connecting internal USB 3.2 (Gen 1) devices to a motherboard USB 3.0 port. It supports data transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s and includes a female host interface with two female connectors. The adapter's small form factor (30 mm × 25 mm × 6 mm) allows easy installation inside a PC case without occupying significant space.

Advantages

This adapter offers backward-compatible connectivity between USB 3.0 motherboard headers and USB 3.2 Type-E Key-A devices, supports transfer speeds up to 5 Gb/s, and has a compact footprint for simple mounting in tight spaces. The presence of two female connectors increases flexibility when connecting multiple internal USB peripherals.

Suitable for

• Connecting internal USB 3.2 (Gen 1) devices to a motherboard USB 3.0 header
• Adding internal USB ports for front-panel modules, card readers or internal hubs
• Compact PC builds or systems with limited internal space

How to use

Turn off and unplug the PC before installation. Locate the motherboard USB 3.0 header and connect the adapter's host interface to that header, ensuring correct pin alignment. Route the adapter to the target internal device(s) and attach the device connectors. After secure connections, power on the system and verify device recognition in the operating system. No additional drivers are typically required for modern OSes that support USB 3.x.

Recommendations

Ensure correct orientation when connecting to the motherboard header to avoid bent pins. Use the adapter in systems that support USB 3.0 / USB 3.2 Gen 1 to achieve rated transfer speeds; performance may be lower when connected through older USB standards.
