Glasfiberkabel ProXtend SC-SC UPC OM2 Duplex 5M

The ProXtend SC-SC UPC OM2 Duplex 5M fiber optic cable is a 5-meter multimode patch cable with a 50 µm glass core designed for full duplex communication. It uses SC connectors on both ends and a low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) jacket, providing a practical solution for high-speed, bandwidth-intensive links in LANs and data center environments while operating in temperatures from -20 to 70 °C.

Advantages

This OM2 duplex cable supports reliable full duplex multimode transmission with SC‑SC UPC connectors, offering consistent optical performance for short- to medium-range links. The 50 µm core is suitable for typical multimode transceivers, and the LSZH jacket reduces toxic fumes in case of fire. The 5 m length provides flexibility for rack-to-rack and equipment connections in structured cabling installations.

Suitable for

• Local area networks (LAN) interconnects
• Data center patching between switches and servers
• Multimode transceiver connections (50 µm OM2)
• Rack-to-rack and equipment-to-equipment cabling

How to use

Route the cable between SC ports on the devices or patch panels, ensuring the duplex polarity is maintained (transmit to receive). Avoid tight bends and protect the cable from sharp edges; secure with cable management accessories in racks or trays. Inspect connector endfaces for contamination and clean with appropriate fiber cleaning tools before installation to ensure optimal signal transmission.

Recommendations

Use this OM2 SC‑SC duplex cable for short- to medium-distance multimode links within buildings and data centers. Select appropriate multimode transceivers and verify polarity during installation. Store and handle the cable to avoid excessive bending and mechanical stress to maintain performance.
