Dockningsstation DeLOCK 87298

This Delock Docking Station (model 87298) connects to a computer via USB‑C with Alt‑Mode or Thunderbolt 3 and expands a laptop’s connectivity with video outputs (mini DisplayPort and HDMI simultaneously, or VGA as an alternative), three USB Type‑A ports, a combined headset jack, Gigabit Ethernet and an SD / microSD card reader. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 host interface and is compatible with Windows and macOS; with a USB‑C power adapter it can also charge compatible notebooks during use.

Advantages

The docking station provides multiple external ports in a compact silver housing, enabling dual‑monitor setups via MST on DisplayPort 1.2 (extended desktop on supported systems) as well as standard single‑monitor output via VGA. Integrated USB Type‑A ports, a full‑size RJ‑45 Ethernet connector and memory card readers remove the need for separate adapters. The device supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 data rates and allows pass‑through charging with a USB‑C power supply.

Suitable for

• Expanding laptop ports for office or home workstations
• Driving two external monitors from a compatible Windows or Thunderbolt host
• Connecting wired Ethernet, headset and USB peripherals
• Transferring photos and files via SD / microSD cards

Key specifications

• Host interface: USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Type‑C)
• Video outputs: mini DisplayPort, HDMI (both can operate simultaneously via MST) and VGA (alternative)
• Data ports: 3 × USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type‑A
• Network: Gigabit RJ‑45 Ethernet
• Audio: 3.5 mm headset jack
• Card reader: SD / microSD
• Colour: Silver
• Model / MPN: DELOCK 87298

How to use

Connect the docking station to a laptop using the USB‑C cable. For two independent external displays on supported Windows or Thunderbolt hosts, attach displays to the mini DisplayPort and HDMI outputs and enable extended desktop in the operating system; on macOS both video ports will mirror the same image. Alternatively, use the VGA port for a single monitor. Plug USB devices, headset and Ethernet cable into the corresponding ports and insert SD or microSD cards into the card slot. If notebook charging is required, connect a compatible USB‑C power adapter to provide power delivery while the dock is in use.

Recommendations

To achieve dual extended displays use a host that supports DisplayPort MST (DisplayPort 1.2). On macOS, expect mirrored output on both video ports rather than independent screens. Use a USB‑C power adapter that meets your notebook’s power requirements to enable charging through the dock.
