Diskarray SanDisk G-RAID SHUTTLE 8 96 TB stationär HDD

The SanDisk G-RAID SHUTTLE 8 96 TB is a transportable, high-capacity RAID disk array designed for content creators and production teams that need large, reliable storage on location or in the studio. The desktop chassis houses eight removable enterprise-class Ultrastar hard drives and provides multiple host interfaces including Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C, plus support for USB Power Delivery.

Advantages

This RAID array offers up to 96 TB of usable capacity in a compact, portable enclosure and delivers high sustained transfer rates—up to 1900 MB/s read and 2000 MB/s write—suitable for multi-stream 4K, 8K and VR workflows. The unit ships with built-in hardware RAID (default RAID 5) and supports RAID 0, 1, 6, 10, 50, 60 and JBOD for flexibility. Removable enterprise-class Ultrastar drives increase serviceability and reliability, while dual Thunderbolt 3 ports enable daisy-chaining of additional devices. The USB-C port also supports up to 85 W USB Power Delivery for charging compatible laptops.

Suitable for

• On-location video production and post‑production
• Multi-stream 4K, 8K and VR editing workflows
• Backup and archive of large media projects

How to use

Connect the G-RAID SHUTTLE 8 to your host computer using the Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C cable supplied. If using Thunderbolt 3, daisy-chain additional Thunderbolt devices through the second port as needed. Choose or verify the desired RAID level using the drive’s hardware RAID controls or accompanying software/manual before transferring data. Ensure the removable Ultrastar drives are securely seated and perform an initial format or volume configuration compatible with your operating system and editing software.

Recommendations

For optimal performance with multi-stream 4K/8K editing, use Thunderbolt 3 connectivity and select a RAID level that balances speed and redundancy (RAID 5 or RAID 6). Keep spare Ultrastar drives available for rapid replacement and maintain regular backups of critical footage to an additional storage tier.
