Borrhammare DeWALT DCH273N

The DeWALT DCH273N is a cordless rotary hammer designed for drilling and light chiselling tasks in concrete and masonry. Equipped with a brushless motor and 18 V battery compatibility, it combines relatively high impact energy with a compact, lightweight body. The tool supports drilling up to 24 mm diameter in concrete, offers an idle speed of 1,100 RPM and an impact energy of 2.1 J while maintaining an overall weight of approximately 2.5 kg. Its yellow-and-black housing and ergonomic shape are typical of DeWALT professional handheld tools.

Advantages

The brushless motor provides improved efficiency and longer runtime compared with brushed alternatives, while reducing maintenance needs. At about 2.5 kg, the tool is easy to handle and manoeuvre for overhead and tight-space operations. An impact energy of 2.1 J with a maximum concrete drilling diameter of 24 mm gives a balance between drilling performance and portability. The relatively low idle speed and controlled power delivery help maintain operator control during precision drilling tasks.

Suitable for

• Drilling holes for anchors and fixings in concrete and masonry
• Light chiselling and removal of tiles or mortar
• General construction and renovation work where a compact rotary hammer is needed
• DIY projects requiring reliable battery-powered drilling in hard materials

Key specifications

• Maximum concrete drilling diameter: 24 mm
• Impact energy: 2.1 J
• Idle speed: 1,100 RPM
• Power source: 18 V battery (battery not included)
• Output power: 400 W
• Weight: 2.5 kg
• Tool colour: yellow and black

How to use

Fit a compatible SDS or rotary hammer bit suitable for the required hole diameter and material. Ensure the correct battery is fully charged and inserted, then select the appropriate mode (drill only or hammer drill, if available) before starting. Hold the tool with both hands, position the bit at the intended spot, and apply steady, moderate pressure while starting at low speed to establish the hole, increasing speed as needed. For chiselling tasks, use the appropriate chisel accessory and select the chiselling mode; maintain a stable stance and allow the tool’s impact action to do the work rather than forcing it.

Recommendations

Use personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection, and appropriate dust control measures when drilling into concrete. Match bit type and size to the material and task, and allow cooling periods during extended use to preserve motor and battery life. Store the rotary hammer in a dry place and remove the battery for long-term storage.
