Optisk dämpare CBO SFA21BK5 singlemode LC simplex 5 dB

The Optical Attenuator CBO SFA21BK5 Singlemode LC Simplex 5 dB is a compact inline device designed to reduce optical signal power in singlemode fiber links. It uses an LC simplex connector for straightforward insertion into patch panels, transceivers or test setups and delivers a fixed attenuation of 5 dB to control receiver input levels, protect sensitive equipment and replicate realistic link loss during measurements.

Advantages

The attenuator provides stable, predictable loss with low back reflection and consistent optical performance across singlemode wavelengths. Its plug-in form factor allows quick deployment without special tools, and the LC simplex interface ensures broad compatibility with common singlemode transceivers and patch cords. The device is compact and durable for use in rack, field and laboratory environments.

Suitable for

• Adjusting receiver input power in telecom and datacom links
• Protecting optical receivers and test equipment from excessive power
• Performing link loss simulation and acceptance testing in laboratories
• Inline attenuation in patch panels and chassis-based installations

Key specifications

• Fiber type: singlemode
• Connector type: LC simplex
• Attenuation: fixed 5 dB
• Form factor: compact plug-in attenuator for inline or adapter use
• Typical return loss: designed for low back reflection in singlemode systems

How to use

Install the attenuator by inserting the LC simplex connector into the matching LC receptacle on a transceiver, adapter or patch panel, then connect the opposing fiber connector to complete the optical path. Ensure connectors are clean before mating to avoid contamination and excess loss. For testing, place the attenuator in-line between the source and measurement device to reduce optical power by the specified 5 dB. To remove, gently unplug the attenuator from the connector and protect exposed ferrules with dust caps.

Recommendations

Before deployment, clean both connector end-faces with appropriate fiber cleaning tools and visually inspect for contamination. Use the attenuator at the specified singlemode wavelengths and within the power handling limits of connected equipment. Store protected when not in use to maintain connector integrity.
